Herb – Infused Poetry
Sunday August 16th 10.00 – 4.00pm
£45.00 to include tour, refreshments and lunch.
In this poetry writing workshop, inspired by the plants found in Sugnall’s Walled garden and by the writings of poets such as Shakespeare, Keats, and Alice Oswald, we will create our own ‘dispensary’ of poetry exploring the medicinal properties of plants. The day will begin with a tour of the garden led by garden historian, Shelagh Teahan.
After we have explored the garden and its history, Elizabeth Jardine Godwin, will offer you an insight into the medicinal properties of selected plants to discover their healing magic and mythology, guide you through the process of writing poetry, so that you will leave with at least the beginnings, if not the final draft, of a herb-infused poem.
