The Poem Houses are spaces or gaps, often in a sequence, where text and image intermingle. The houses become places of safe keeping, echoing architectural forms but also keeping hold of the book on the familiar ground of Andre Breton’s Poeme -Objets, . What my houses allow for is the ability to move metaphorically around in the space of a poem: it allows for the movement between thought, word and place. Consequently, process is the object: end-stopped and run-on lines are reflected in the deliberate exposure of materials and construction, reflecting the unfinished, restless incompleteness of a poem.

Work in progress on a limited edition of Moon for Baltic Artists’ Book Fair in June.
